Miles for Money

Taking long hikes with a full rucksack is not necessarily a fond memory for anyone who's gone through basic training, but three SOWF supporters recently did just that to raise money for the foundation. Mike Reddinger, Thomas Orsick and Micah Stout set out on a route covering 28 miles of the Elyria, Ohio countryside in fatigues, combat boots while carrying 50 pound rucks.

The three of them generated a total of $2500 in pledges for the Warrior Foundation's goal of providing college educations for the children of special operators from the Army, Air Force, Navy and Marine Corps lost in combat or training operations.

If you'd like to show your appreciation for the efforts of Mike, Michah and Thomas, you can make a donation by clicking on the “Make a Donation” menu item at the top of our home page.

Mike is planning another “Miles for Money” march next year. If you're interested in taking part or just want to thank Mike for his efforts, drop him a note at

You can see an excellent video of their march by clicking here.
